Woodlands House is a 4 bedded bungalow in Alexandria for children and young people who need an alternative home base at some point in their lives.
The house is set in its own grounds with ample opportunity for safe contained play. In addition it is close to the River Leven near Balloch and different green spaces. Also close to the national Park at Loch Lomond.
The living space is furnished to a high standard, and each child has their own bedroom, the emphasis being on a homely environment.
The ethos of caring for our young people living with us, is to create a nurturing home environment in which young people can experience stability, and feel secure and valued.
The SHANARRI indicators will act as a tool for ongoing assessment of wellbeing objectives.
Our approach to caring for children is trauma informed, and to practically demonstrate an understanding of the impact of early life experiences particularly those which have been adverse.
The care provided will focused upon positive life experiences such as supporting education, having fun and developing life skills.
Planned family links will be supported and valued as an important part of the child’s identity.
