Benesse Care Ltd

Benesse was founded on a clear and powerful belief: that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and genuinely supported — not just in principle, but in everyday practice.
Established in 2021 by experienced professionals from across the care sector, Benesse was born out of a shared frustration with the inconsistencies and limitations they had seen in residential care. Too often, homes were under-resourced, and the quality of support varied widely. The founders knew that young people deserved better — a place where care is not just delivered, but deeply felt.
Guided by lived experience and professional insight, Benesse spent several years carefully developing a new kind of home — one that places relationships, consistency, and compassion at its core.
We are more than a care home — we are a safe, supportive, and nurturing community. Our mission is to provide a stable environment where children and young people feel valued, build confidence, develop life skills, and begin to heal from past experiences.
What began as a vision to improve the care system has grown into a commitment that evolves with every young person we support, every staff member we welcome, and every milestone we achieve. We are dedicated to continually raising the standard of care and proving that, with the right people and a clear purpose, lasting and meaningful change is not only possible — it’s expected.
At Benesse, we are dedicated to providing exceptional, child-centred care that truly makes a difference. We strive to:

Our Values and Beliefs
We believe every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and heard. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and we focus on nurturing each young person’s potential rather than simply managing behaviour. Through trust, consistency, and compassion, we create a supportive environment where children and young people can grow, heal, and thrive.

Our Approach to Relationships
We believe strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of good care. Each young person has a dedicated key worker for consistent emotional support. Our team listens, validates feelings, and builds trust at the individual’s pace. When challenges arise, we use restorative approaches to repair relationships and promote healing.

Our Therapeutic Models
We use a trauma-informed, attachment-aware approach to care. Our team is trained in PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and restorative practice, helping us build strong, trusting relationships and respond to behaviour with empathy and understanding.

Voice and Choice
We empower young people by involving them in daily decisions, from meals to activities. They can personalise their own space and are encouraged to express themselves freely. We listen carefully to their feedback and support their independence and life skills at a pace that suits them.

Consistency and Supportive Structure
We provide clear routines and gentle guidance to promote stability and reduce anxiety. Our team works together consistently, setting kind and clear expectations to build trust and create a calm, predictable environment.

Encouragement and Growth
We nurture a positive and caring environment, celebrating every effort and small step forward. Our team gently supports young people in rebuilding their self-esteem and confidence at their own pace.

Individualised Care
We recognise that every young person is unique. Our care plans are tailored to individual strengths, needs, and interests, with regular reviews that involve young people in setting their own goals. We offer flexible support that adapts to their emotional and developmental journey.

Collaborative Care
We believe in working together with social workers, carers, and other professionals to provide the best possible support for each young person. We’re passionate about advocating for their needs in education and health, and warmly involve families whenever it’s safe and right to do so.

We are committed to keeping The Promise by providing care that feels like love. We prioritise strong relationships, listen to children and families, and involve young people in decisions about their lives. With stability, compassion, and partnership, we ensure every child feels safe, respected, and truly cared for.
